We aim to create the Cybersecurity Community, an interconnected EU-wide cybersecurity industry and research ecosystem, where it will encourage cooperation, access and exchange of information and dissemination of expertise among cybersecurity stakeholders.

The Cybersecurity Community will bring together stakeholders from the private sector, public sector, industry, academia and research, combining knowledge, skills, expertise and research in Cybersecurity to secure Cyprus’ and the EU’s cyberspace.

We encourage Community members to actively participate and contribute to research and training projects, with the ultimate aim of facilitating the dissemination of information, competences and skills among its members.

We raise awareness and educate the wider society, including public and private sector organisations, academic and research and technology stakeholders and citizens in general about cyber security and resilience, how to protect themselves from cyber-attacks and cyber risks, to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of their data.

We encourage and promote cybersecurity education and skills training. We produce educational, awareness and information materials and organise events such as training seminars, lectures, workshops, awareness campaigns.

We seek synergies with stakeholders with related activities at national level, such as national policies for cybersecurity research, development and innovation, in particular with regard to the implementation of the National Cyber Security Strategy.

We encourage SMEs to implement and obtain certification through the Cyber Hygiene Framework for SMEs for a basic level of cybersecurity as a measure to protect their infrastructure, data and information, to protect their functionality and reliability.

We contribute to the European Union’s efforts to achieve synergies and coordinate European funding which are intertwined with the EU initiative.

We promote, encourage and facilitate the participation of civil society, businesses, in particular start-ups and SMEs, the academic and research community and other stakeholders in Cyprus in cross-border cybersecurity projects and actions funded by the European funding programs.

To this end, we provide technical assistance to potential beneficiaries at the application stage for European programs managed by the ECCC, in a fully objective and transparent manner and ensure that they receive the same information to avoid conflicts of interest.

We target, promote and encourage Cypriot Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to participate in EU funding programs.
