On Friday, June 27, 2025, the Office of the Commissioner of Communications of Communications – Digital Security Authority, as the NCC-CY (National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity in Cyprus), participated in the SummerUp educational program, held at the European University Cyprus, with the aim of presenting the interactive platform HackShield.
The presentation was attended by Ms. Gianna Danidou, Lecturer in Cybersecurity at the European University Cyprus, and Ms. Georgia Solomou, President of the organization Women4Cyber, further reinforcing the message of the importance of education and awareness around online safety.
During the session, the HackShield platform was presented to 30 children who showed great enthusiasm. HackShield is an online game designed to educate children aged 8 to 12 on cybersecurity topics in a fun and engaging way. Through the game, children take on the role of “Cyber Agents,” learning how to protect themselves and others from online threats.
The presence of the Office of the Commissioner of Communications – Digital Security Authority as the NCC-CY at the event was of particular significance, as it provided a valuable opportunity to observe the platform's functionality in real time and assess the children's interaction with the content.
The involvement of the Office of the Commissioner of Communications– Digital Security Authority as the NCC-CY is even more important given its official role as the national representative of HackShield in Cyprus, actively contributing to the promotion of cybersecurity education from an early age.
The Office of the Commissioner of Communications– Digital Security Authority, and specifically the NCC-CY team, intends to continue actively promoting the HackShield platform, enhancing the digital awareness and safety of children across Cyprus.
