The Office of the Communications Commissioner – Digital Security Authority, as the designated NCC-CY, participated in the 16th Governing Board of the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), which took place on 9–10 March 2026 in Bucharest, Romania.

Cyprus at the 16th ECCC Governing Board and at the NCC Networking Day
Over the two days, discussions focused on strengthening cybersecurity at the European level. Among other topics, updates were presented on the implementation of the Digital Europe Programme and Horizon Europe, as well as on the role of the ECCC in supporting and promoting related initiatives.
Particular emphasis was also given to the further development of the European cybersecurity community through the ATLAS Cybersecurity Platform, in close cooperation with the Network of National Coordination Centres (NCCs).
The meeting also featured thematic workshops and open discussions, providing participants with the opportunity to exchange insights, review the progress of ECCC activities and enhance networking and cooperation among partners.
Additionally, on 11 March, the NCC-CY also participated in the NCC Networking Day, bringing together NCCs from all EU member states. During the event, breakout sessions were organised on various topics related to the progress of the Network’s work.
It is also worth noting that Mr. Polis Peratikos, Head of the NCC-CY team, has been appointed Vice-Chair of the NCC Network, further strengthening Cyprus’s participation and contribution to European cybersecurity initiatives.
The event provided an important opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen cross-border cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.
